Built in the pre Civil War era (est. 1830's), this historic barn's addition was built to match with its notably beautiful characteristics and to maintain its integrity. It was custom built with rough sawn eastern Hemlock fibers and cladding. The walls were poured concrete walls with a stucco finish to give it a strong, durable, and rustic feel. Each custom door and window was designed to have a specific purpose for the barn's functionality and client's needs. As a full working barn that includes horses, the cutest donkey, chickens, and ducks, a standing seam roof was installed with solar panels to give daily power to these amazing animals. Coinciding with its history, the barn's floor bricks were repurposed from Second Chance in Baltimore, Maryland.

In questo giardino da me realizzato, si è voluto ricreare l'atmosfera di un tempo ma con occhi attenti al mondo moderno. Sfere e cubi di bossi, lecci e svariati Miscanhtus creano struttura, mentre le piante erbacee donano colore durante l'anno portando movimento, profumi, sensazioni. Il resto del giardino è ancora work in progress ma non tarderanno ad arrivare nuove foto.

Colm Joseph's award-winning garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019, The Perennial Lifeline Garden, featured a classical rose garden reimagined through modern planting design as a more naturalistic, sustainable and lower maintenance 'rose meadow'. Within the rose meadow, freestanding metal screens, stone and topiary columns, and a pair of modern fountains combined to create a contemporary colonnade. Multi-stem trees added their sculptural form, framing views through the space. Bespoke limestone columns and contemporary laser-cut steel screens combined with topiary columns to form an abstracted colonnade. A modern steel fountain traversed the colonnade to allow visitors to walk underneath the cascading water. The fountain flowed into a rill that circulated through the rose meadow planting, while cantilevered limestone seats provided quiet spots for visitors to relax.

Giardino moderno

Il giardino moderno è contraddistinto da linee minimali e ben definite. Il layout è netto e lo spazio viene delimitato on estrema precisione. Nel giardino moderno si trova spesso una piscina. Accanto, alcuni alberi a fare ombra, geometricamente potati.

Giardino mediterraneo

Nel giardino mediterraneo si trovano le piante della macchia mediterranea, la pavimentazione di passaggio in cotto e i tipici muretti a secco.

Giardino giapponese o zen

Il giardino preferito per dedicarsi alla meditazione, ove le forme, l’ordine e la composizione seguono regole tanto antiche quanto rigide è il giardino in stile asiatico. Il suono dell’acqua che scorre non deve mancare, così come bambù e piccoli alberi.

Come sfruttare gli ornamenti decorativi per arredare un giardino

Utilizzandoli nel modo corretto e posizionandoli con cura e senso pratico, gli ornamenti da giardino possono dare quel tocco in più al tuo spazio esterno. Un tavolo e qualche sedia, accompagnati da lanterne da appendere ai rami di un albero oppure al porticato, possono dare quel senso di serenità ricercato. Attenzione però allo stile: qualsiasi sceglierai, avrà un forte impatto sul look del tuo ambiente. È opportuno quindi che sia coerente con gli altri elementi decorativi, sia del giardino stesso che dell'esterno della casa. Un cancello in legno o in ferro battuto che si apre su un piccolo sentiero in pietre accompagnerà i tuoi ospiti all'interno del tuo giardino, guidandoli fino all'ingresso di casa. Lungo il percorso, l'ospite potrà incontrare una panca sulla destra, un'aiuola decorata con i tuoi fiori preferiti sulla sinistra, oppure una staccionata. Un angolo con il barbecue offrirà la possibilità di pranzi e cene estive all’aria aperta con amici e parenti, mentre uno spazio di gioco lo renderà il posto preferito dei bambini. Se il vostro giardino è particolarmente esposto al sole, può essere utile installare un pergolato o un gazebo, per poterlo sfruttare anche durante le ore più calde.
