Ohana Natural Landscaping LLCBeautiful, expansive bluestone patio, dry-stack terracing, boulder caps. Extensive regrading and re-working of the back yard which had a significant drop off. In order to create the space we had to completely terraform the space. The walkways are bordered with 4x4 pressure treated wood, staked into the ground, continuing the gorgeous bluestone all around the house. The front garden bed was also redesigned with river rock, boulders, and trees to be planted in the Spring.

Sweet Smiling LandscapesThis small suburban yard was filled by a large swimming pool. The homeowner is extremely sensitive to the sun so she decided to trade out the pool for this intimate garden space. When this client is not traveling, she is hosting visitors, watching friends’ dogs, or hanging out with her grandchildren. Our job was to create an inviting space that is low maintenance, drought tolerant, and kid- and dog-friendly. Using gravel, concrete pavers, and a simple planting plan consisting of Mediterranean-adaptive plants, we created this design to fit the mid-century home. The gravel allows for the absorption of rainwater while providing a space for kids and dog to romp and play. Olive trees help shade and cool the space, providing a cozy area to gather with friends. The minimalist plantings survive on very little irrigation and require little more than an hour or two of puttering in the garden per season to maintain.
Manuka GardensOur Deakin project’s oversized yellow feature pot has been the talk of the town. Our design brief was to create a Palm Springs inspired, low maintenance garden to compliment their mid-century modern influenced renovation. The addition of the yellow pot was the request of our clients and as you can see it’s a stunning focal point for their front garden.

di Stefano LandscapingLocated on Lake Champlain, this landscape installation provided stone steps and landings to give access to the water. It was designed to work within the existing mountain side. Wildflower plantings were used to protect against erosion on the bank. A spa was strategically placed to be hidden from the house but still maintain a beautiful view.

neil designThe Parkland House is located in an existing flood zone, and the spaces under the existing home and extension are at risk of flooding. Finishes throughout have been selected for their flood resilience, and the spaces have been designed with ease of recovery in mind.
The family pass through the secure central stair daily to access the garage, laundry and garden spaces. The battens and breeze blocks allow cooling breezes to pass through the stair, and filter through the undercroft spaces.
In the event of a flood, the permeable and flood resilient construction will allow water to freely exit the spaces.
