Brad VandersThis is an Aquascape Ecosystem Pond installed in the Autumn of 2019 in Newcastle New South Wales. Access was tight with a crane required to transport excavation equipment and materials on to the site. The end result is breathtaking. This is 6 months on, crystal clear water, no algae and a very happy family of 4 enjoying the Aquascape lifestyle day in, day out.

UserA tranquil garden design teeming with herbs and medicinal plants. Visitors are encouraged to use the continuous path as an aid to walking meditation.
Along the path one can appreciate the filigree forms of umbellifers and gossamer fennel leaves. Awareness of subtleties such as plant movement in a breeze and backlit petals is heightened.
The layout of the garden is denominated by the path’s route which loops and circles to contain a circular water trough and round of thyme. This curved path is intersected at various points by a serpentine rill. Senses are heightened via the calming sound of flowing water, cushioned feel of camomile atop the seat and the uplifting fragrance of mint varieties.

The maples and crabapples, brought in from out of state, are as large as 8” caliper. We also embraced the clients’ desire to be involved with the selection and placement of almost every plant.

AlexOur client in Annandale had always had a green thumb. He loved his plants and had an extensive collection of pots and plants already in the small courtyard garden.
It was only the courtyard itself that wasn’t working as it was dominated by a large wall cutting the space practically in half. It was also fairly dull and impractical.
The brief as you might imagine was to not only create large planting areas but also have room for an entertaining space and a large water feature and green wall. The key was to keep it simple.
We changed the flooring to a beautiful modular slate and created an in-built seat with raised garden bed packed full of plants.
The in-built seating really helped to maximise the space and also provides a great focal point.
The water feature provides that soothing quality of running water and is also stocked full of fish.
There is also still plenty of room for the pots and the garden can comfortably be called a green oasis from every angle.
This garden design project was a real pleasure to work on and it certainly proves the old adage that size doesn’t matter.

Surrounded by drought tolerant ground covers that can be mowed like a lawn but without the water. Gravel paths meander through this garden bordered with flowering drought tolerant perennials roses, lavender, blue spire sage, jasmine, pittosporum, rosemary, rockrose. The paths meander through the woods. Sitting areas are placed throughout this garden. Subtle garden lighting illuminates this garden creating a magical wonderland.
