Amber Freda Garden DesignThis TriBeCa roof garden design includes low-maintenance greenroof trays, a metal pergola, and lush plantings in black fiberglass planters. We also included a brown bamboo fence to help cover a less attractive existing fence. Plantings include white birch trees, blue junipers, variegated euonymus, ornamental grasses, Knockout roses, gold mop cyresses, boxwoods, dwarf pines, and purple and chartreuse heuchera. All of the planters are watered via an automated drip irrigation system. We also included up-lighting in the planters that is controlled on an automated timer. Think Outside GardensThis small courtyard is a carefully designed combination of materials that allows the new and old structures to sit comfortably together and brings the whole garden up to date. The cedar bench top provides warmth to the outdoor space which is dominated by the restrained colours of the walls and flooring. While the consistent mid green colour of the planting provides structure to this garden the combination of varying leaf shapes and textures provides depth and interest.
An offset layout to the bench seating allows for depth in the garden whilst the introduction of screen planting creates privacy. The result is a calming and relaxed garden in an urban setting.

Pro-Land Landscape Construction Inc.With a lengthy list of ideas about how to transform their backyard, the clients were excited to see what we could do. Existing features on site needed to be updated and in-cooperated within the design. The view from each angle of the property was already outstanding and we didn't want the design to feel out of place. We had to make the grade changes work to our advantage, each separate space had to have a purpose. The client wanted to use the property for charity events, so a large flat turf area was constructed at the back of the property, perfect for setting up tables, chairs and a stage if needed. It also created the perfect look out point into the back of the property, dropping off into a ravine. A lot of focus throughout the project was the plant selection. With a large amount of garden beds, we wanted to maintain a clean and formal look, while still offering seasonal interest. We did this by edging the beds with boxwoods, adding white hydrangeas throughout the beds for constant colour, and subtle pops of purple and yellow. This along with the already breathtaking natural backdrop of the space, is more than enough to make this project stand out.

Native Edge LandscapeThis project is another example of how to maximize small spaces. This customer’s small Brentwood yard was centered around their new plunge pool. However, the existing pavers and layout left much to be desired. We reworked the pavers to create usable spaces and clean lines, and a vines and lighting work with the custom pergola to increase the privacy and add a soft vertical element to encourage the intimate feel of the space. Two other structures block the pool equipment and AC compressor from sight. This reduces the visual weight of these areas and allows the eye to focus on the crown jewel of the space… the pool.
PHASE2 BUILDERS INC.When we first surveyed the site, we saw staff bicycles strewn around the space, mostly in hard to see places to avoid theft. As a result, we integrated a protected and hidden sturdy bicycle storage area in the space, keeping bikes safe and organized. The opposite side of this redwood sawn partition, we re-purposed an old bench from the site and integrated into the new design.

UserThe goal of this landscape design and build project was to create a backyard patio that incorporated brick pavers and irregular bluestone. The patio also features a hidden hatch that reveals the septic tank beneath. Irregular and oversized bluestone pavers set in the lawn link the side yard to the rear hot tub area. A traditional New England landscape palette was selected to bloom year round and provide color throughout the seasons. Designed and built by Skyline Landscapes, LLC.
