MISSION: Les habitants du lieu ont souhaité restructurer les étages de leur maison pour les adapter à leur nouveau mode de vie, avec des enfants plus grands et de plus en plus créatifs. Une partie du projet a consisté à décloisonner une partie du premier étage pour créer une grande pièce centrale, une « creative room » baignée de lumière où chacun peut dessiner, travailler, créer, se détendre. Le centre de la pièce est occupé par un grand plateau posé sur des caissons de rangement ouvert, le tout pouvant être décomposé et recomposé selon les besoins. Idéal pour dessiner, peindre ou faire des maquettes ! Le mur de gauche accueille un grand placard ainsi qu'un bureau en alcôve. Le tout est réalisé sur mesure en contreplaqué d'épicéa (verni incolore mat pour conserver l'aspect du bois brut). Plancher peint en blanc, murs blancs et bois clair créent une ambiance naturelle et gaie, propice à la création !

Situé au 4ème et 5ème étage, ce beau duplex est mis en valeur par sa luminosité. En contraste aux murs blancs, le parquet hausmannien en pointe de Hongrie a été repeint en noir, ce qui lui apporte une touche moderne. Dans le salon / cuisine ouverte, la grande bibliothèque d’angle a été dessinée et conçue sur mesure en bois de palissandre, et sert également de bureau. La banquette également dessinée sur mesure apporte un côté cosy et très chic avec ses pieds en laiton. La cuisine sans poignée, sur fond bleu canard, a un plan de travail en granit avec des touches de cuivre. A l’étage, le bureau accueille un grand plan de travail en chêne massif, avec de grandes étagères peintes en vert anglais. La chambre parentale, très douce, est restée dans les tons blancs.

This studio space above the garage serves the clients needs for her custom card making hobby. Utilizing the kneewalls we were able to carve out lots of great storage space with drawers and shelves. The sink is a salvage soapstone piece. The skylights provide both fresh air and help illuminate the space wonderfully during the day while the medium pear pendants from George Nelson and the Cirrus Ceiling Fan/light by Modern Fan Company help move the air and illuminate in the evenings. This kitchen is stocked full of personal details for this lovely retired couple living the dream in their beautiful country home. Terri loves to garden and can her harvested fruits and veggies and has filled her double door pantry full of her beloved canned creations. The couple has a large family to feed and when family comes to visit - the open concept kitchen, loads of storage and countertop space as well as giant kitchen island has transformed this space into the family gathering spot - lots of room for plenty of cooks in this kitchen! Tucked into the corner is a thoughtful kitchen office space. Possibly our favorite detail is the green custom painted island with inset bar sink, making this not only a great functional space but as requested by the homeowner, the island is an exact paint match to their dining room table that leads into the grand kitchen and ties everything together so beautifully.

Reworking spaces in our homes so that they work better for our families as they grow and change is something we all need to do from time to time-- and it can give your house a new lease on life. One room that took on a new identity in this old farmhouse was the third floor attic space--a room that is much like a treehouse with its small footprint, high perch, lofty views of the landscape, and sloping ceiling. The space has been many things over the past two decades- a bedroom, a guest room, a hang-out for kids... but NOW it is the 'world headquarters' for my client's business. :) Adding all the funky touches that make it a cozy personal space made all the difference...like lots of live green plants, vintage original artwork, architectural salvage window sashes, a repurposed and repainted dresser from the 1940's, and, of course, my client's favorite photos.

Idéal pour dessiner, peindre ou faire des maquettes ! Le mur de droite accueille un linéaire de rangements profonds sur lequelle repose une bibliothèque et un coin repos/lecture. Le tout est réalisé sur mesure en contreplaqué d'épicéa (verni incolore mat pour conserver l'aspect du bois brut). Plancher peint en blanc, mur vert "duck green" (Farrow&Ball), bois clair et accessoires vitaminés créent une ambiance naturelle et gaie, propice à la création !

Studio con pavimento in legno verniciato e pavimento in bambù

Per la maggior parte delle famiglie lo studio o ufficio in casa può avere varie funzioni: può essere infatti un vero e proprio ufficio per coloro che lavorano da casa; per altri invece è un posto dove sistemare le carte, dedicarsi alla lettura o a un hobby, oppure - soprattutto nel caso di bambini e ragazzi - fare i compiti o giocare al computer. Potendo, puoi trasformare in uno studio un’intera stanza (magari abbinata alla camera degli ospiti), dove oltre la scrivania puoi sistemare anche una libreria e un divanetto o una poltrona relax. Se invece lo spazio a disposizione è limitato, puoi optare per un cosiddetto angolo studio, che trova posto in una nicchia, nel sottoscala oppure, come dice il nome, in un qualsiasi angolo del soggiorno, della camera da letto o del corridoio. Indipendentemente dallo spazio a disposizione, vi sono alcuni aspetti da considerare prima di arredare il proprio studio. Oltre a decidere l’uso che se ne vuole fare, bisogna far sì che l’ufficio in casa sia comodo e funzionale, disponga di abbastanza spazio per lavorare e conservare documenti, libri e strumenti vari e sia in armonia con lo stile del resto della casa.

Come organizzare uno studio o ufficio in casa pratico e funzionale

Una buona organizzazione è uno dei fattori più importanti da tener presente quando si vuole arredare uno studio. La scrivania, innanzi tutto, deve possibilmente offrire abbastanza superficie per scrivere e sistemarvici il PC fisso o portatile e gli oggetti di cancelleria. Al fine di avere posto a sufficienza per carte e documenti importanti è consigliabile investire in una cassettiera per ufficio o in uno schedario con chiusura a chiave. Infine per conservare libri ed eventuali raccoglitori si possono montare delle mensole oppure acquistare degli scaffali o delle librerie bifacciali, che oltre ad offrire molto spazio fungono da divisorio se lo studio si trova ad esempio nel soggiorno. Nel caso si tratti di uno spazio di lavoro che viene usato quotidianamente è indispensabile inoltre prediligere una sedia da ufficio comoda ed ergonomica: non dimenticare che, trascorrendoci gran parte della giornata, è fondamentale che ti dia il supporto necessario. Inoltre, si consiglia di scegliere un posto tranquillo per favorire la concentrazione e ben illuminato per non affaticare la vista. A questo proposito puoi optare per una grande lampada centrale e una lampada da scrivania per un’illuminazione più diretta.

Consigli per arredare uno studio piccolo o angolo studio

Se la tua abitazione non offre una stanza separata dove poter allestire il tuo ufficio, vi sono varie possibilità per creare un angolo studio in qualche altro spazio della casa. Disponi di una piccola nicchia? Allora puoi sfruttare il cosiddetto spazio aereo, vale a dire le pareti, e montare una scrivania sospesa o una grande mensola. Per sistemare tutto l’occorrente, quale ad es. la stampante, puoi avvalerti di ripiani o mensole a cubo - magari con sportello anteriore - che puoi sistemare al di sopra della scrivania. Optando per delle mensole colorate, eventualmente laccate, puoi conferire al tuo studio un po’ di vivacità. Per i documenti e il materiale per ufficio consigliamo un contenitore su ruote che può essere spostato a piacimento e ricollocato sotto la scrivania quando non serve più. Un’altra opzione per creare un ufficio compatto o angolo studio è il classico scrittoio o secrétaire, spesso con ribalta o piano estraibile e qualche cassettino all’interno. Esso offre così abbastanza superficie per un laptop e spazio per penne, carte e forbici. Alcuni modelli sono muniti di cassetti esterni di grandi dimensioni per sistemare i raccoglitori o magari anche la stampante. Lo scrittoio è un mobile non solo pratico ma anche bello che trova posto in qualsiasi stanza della casa.
