Afin de créer un espace nuit et bureau supplémentaire dans cette bâtisse familiale, l’ensemble du niveau R+2 a été démoli afin d’être reconstruit sur des bases structurelles saines, intégrant un escalier central esthétique et fonctionnel, véritable pièce maitresse de la maison dotée de nombreux rangements sur mesure. La salle d’eau et les sanitaires du premier étage ont été entièrement repensés et rénovés, alliant zelliges traditionnels colorés et naturels. Entre inspirations méditerranéennes et contemporaines, le projet Cavaré est le fruit de plusieurs mois de travail afin de conserver le charme existant de la demeure, tout en y apportant confort et modernité.

We were excited when the homeowners of this project approached us to help them with their whole house remodel as this is a historic preservation project. The historical society has approved this remodel. As part of that distinction we had to honor the original look of the home; keeping the façade updated but intact. For example the doors and windows are new but they were made as replicas to the originals. The homeowners were relocating from the Inland Empire to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. One of their requests was additional living space. In order to achieve this we added a second story to the home while ensuring that it was in character with the original structure. The interior of the home is all new. It features all new plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Although the home is a Spanish Revival the homeowners style on the interior of the home is very traditional. The project features a home gym as it is important to the homeowners to stay healthy and fit. The kitchen / great room was designed so that the homewoners could spend time with their daughter and her children. The home features two master bedroom suites. One is upstairs and the other one is down stairs. The homeowners prefer to use the downstairs version as they are not forced to use the stairs. They have left the upstairs master suite as a guest suite. All of the windows and doors were replicated to match the original styling of the house. The roof is a combination of Gable and Hip and is made of red clay tile. The arched door and windows are typical of Spanish Revival. The home also features a Juliette Balcony and window. Library / Living Room: The library offers Pocket Doors and custom bookcases. Powder Room: This powder room has a black toilet and Herringbone travertine. Kitchen: This kitchen was designed for someone who likes to cook! It features a Pot Filler, a peninsula and an island, a prep sink in the island, and cookbook storage on the end of the peninsula. The homeowners opted for a mix of stainless and paneled appliances. Although they have a formal dining room they wanted a casual breakfast area to enjoy informal meals with their grandchildren. The kitchen also utilizes a mix of recessed lighting and pendant lights. A wine refrigerator and outlets conveniently located on the island and around the backsplash are the modern updates that were important to the homeowners. Master bath: The master bath enjoys both a soaking tub and a large shower with body sprayers and hand held. For privacy, the bidet was placed in a water closet next to the shower. There is plenty of counter space in this bathroom which even includes a makeup table. Staircase: The staircase features a decorative niche Upstairs master suite: The upstairs master suite features the Juliette balcony Outside: Wanting to take advantage of southern California living the homeowners requested an outdoor kitchen complete with retractable awning. The fountain and lounging furniture keep it light. Home gym: This gym comes completed with rubberized floor covering and dedicated bathroom. It also features its own HVAC system and wall mounted TV.

Le scale mediterranee costituiscono una grande opportunità per personalizzare la tua casa e dare libero sfogo al tuo senso estetico. Avendo un forte impatto, daranno un contributo importante allo stile del tuo soggiorno o del tuo ingresso, inserendosi come punto focale del design della stanza. Esistono molte tipologie di scala mediterranea che potrai installare, e altrettanti materiali tra cui scegliere, dalle classiche scale in legno a quelle di gusto più contemporaneo come le scale a sbalzo.

Quali tipologie di scale interne mediterranee esistono?

Le scale vengono spesso realizzate direttamente sul luogo dall’impresa edile, in quanto il loro trasporto potrebbe risultare molto complicato a causa del peso e dell’ingombro. Sono tipiche delle case con molto spazio a disposizione e molto usate specialmente per l’idea di stabilità che offrono. Per decorarle, puoi personalizzarle con gradini in marmo o piastrellati, oppure proteggere i gradini con rivestimenti in legno o resina.

Scale prefabbricate

Le scale prefabbricate mediterranee sono la tipologia più versatile, in quanto ogni loro parte viene creata separatamente e poi successivamente assemblata sul luogo, facilitando di gran lunga il trasporto. La loro versatilità permette alle scale prefabbricate di adattarsi a ogni tipologia di ambiente e appagare qualsiasi gusto estetico, essendo possibile una creazione su misura e personalizzata. Essendo componibili, inoltre, possono essere modificate anche dopo che l’installazione è avvenuta, a seguito di un restyling del proprio appartamento o di una ristrutturazione. A differenza delle scale in muratura, la cui personalizzazione è possibile soltanto grazie a un rivestimento, queste scale possono essere composte da materiali diversi, come il legno, leghe di metallo o marmo. Non è raro inoltre trovare gradini realizzati anche in vetro e cristallo.

Scale da interni sospese

La scala da interni sospesa si associa volentieri da un ambiente moderno o contemporaneo. Composta da una singola rampa, viene montata a ridosso della parete e regala un particolare senso di leggerezza.

Scale da interni a rampa

Le scale interne a rampa sono invece tipiche scale lineari, spesso posizionate a ridosso di una parete. Possono avere una rampa singola o doppia, a seconda della necessità di sfruttare un angolo. Quella a doppia rampa può presentare un piccolo pianerottolo intermedio, oppure i gradini possono essere posizionati a ventaglio per dare alla rampa una forma curvilinea.

Scale a chicciola

Le scale a chiocciola mediterranee vengono utilizzate per essere risposte nel centro di una stanza, offrendo un forte impatto estetico. Ne esistono due tipi diversi. Il primo tipo è caratterizzato da un elemento centrale di sostegno centrale al quale vengono fissati i gradini. Il secondo tipo invece non presenta questa struttura ed è reso stabile da elementi di fissaggio alle estremità.

Valuta lo spazio a disposizione

Nonostante ci siano diverse tipologie, non tutte possono adattarsi alle tue esigenze. Per poter scegliere adeguatamente, il primo fattore da valutare è lo spazio che hai a disposizione. Una scala a doppia rampa funzionerà solo in ingressi molto ampi, mentre per uno spazio più piccolo sarà più comodo optare per una scala mediterranea semplice o a forma di L. Altro elemento da considerare è la distanza tra i due livelli da collegare. Ad esempio, quando i due piani hanno una differenza di meno di 250 cm, è consigliabile usare scale a rampa provenzale unica, mentre per altezze maggiori sono preferibili quelle ad angolo oppure con un pianerottolo intermedio. Dovrai inoltre avere ben chiaro dove posizionare la scala mediterranea, se lungo una parete, al centro della stanza oppure a percorrere un angolo. In base a ciò potrai decidere se installare una parete in muratura oppure una prefabbricata, a chiocciola o a rampa. L’utilizzo stesso che si farà della scala sarà un fattore determinante. Se, infatti, collegherà due piani molto utilizzati, sarà più adatta una scala interna agile, sicura e facilmente percorribile. Infine, pensa all’impatto generale che vuoi ottenere: le scale elicoidali doneranno un aspetto elegante alla stanza, mentre quelle a chiocciola provenzale saranno più particolari e divertenti, anche se non necessariamente molto pratiche.
