The custom wine cellar was made using non-aromatic western red cedar with hidden LED lighting and a decanting shelf with puck lights. The floating shelves were installed on the natural stone tile wall for additional bottle display. The slate sign was made for the homeowners after a trip to Italy. The sign reads "HO SEMPRE PENSATO CHE BERE FACESSE MALE, COSì HO SMESSO DI PENSARE…." or "I always thought drinking was bad, so I stopped thinking…."

Cute Wine Room!!! This is perfect, stone, wood, wine! What else can we say. This is such a cool little project that goes to show you, no matter the size of the application when you combine the right materials with stone you get a gorgeous finished product. The stone here is a gray fieldstone from the NC Mountains and its applied with a group joint.

This absolutely stunning custom wine cellar and home bar is one for the magazines. A breathtaking display of white and grey marble with gold veins is showcased in the custom bar, sitting in front of a backing of glass and inviting blue light. Ciò che non manca mai nella casa di un vero amante del vino è una cantina personale, magari allestita in taverna o nel seminterrato. Nelle serate primaverili ed estive, quando il clima si fa più mite, rilassarsi in veranda con un buon bicchiere di vino della propria riserva è un ottimo modo per concludere la giornata. Una cantina deve essere allestita in un modo ben preciso per poter conservare al meglio le bottiglie di vino: non essendo un semplice sgabuzzino o deposito, questa particolare stanza deve essere strutturata in modo da favorire temperatura costante e giusta dose di umidità. Un ambiente troppo umido potrebbe favorire la formazione di muffe sui tappi di sughero; al contrario un ambiente troppo asciutto potrebbe farli seccare e comprometterne la tenuta. Le cantine possono essere inoltre utilizzate per conservare altri tipi di alcolici nonché alimenti come salumi, insaccati e conserve.

Come allestisco e arredo la cantina di casa?

Se deciderai di sfruttare una parte del tuo seminterrato adibendola a cantina, dovrai prima di tutto assicurarti che non ci siano finestre o infiltrazioni di luce. La luce solare è infatti deleteria per il vino in quanto ne altera il sapore ed è altrettanto dannosa per liquori, birre, salumi e insaccati. La luce solare inoltre rischierebbe di compromettere la quantità necessaria di umidità che deve essere assolutamente presente: le pareti devono mantenere il luogo a temperatura costante tra i 12°C e i 18°C, elemento fondamentale per la perfetta maturazione ed affinamento del vino. Le cantine non sono però da intendere come un luogo a sé stante della casa. Sono stanze come le altre e in quanto tali possono essere arredate in modo da renderle un ambiente accogliente e ospitale, dove invitare i propri amici e mostrare loro la cura con cui conservi le tue scorte di vino.

Come scelgo gli scaffali per la mia cantina e quali cantinette frigo acquistare?

Elemento indispensabile per una cantina di un grande appassionato di vini è la scaffalatura, in legno o in metallo, nella quale riporre le bottiglie e le riserve di cibo. Potresti dedicare una parete intera agli scaffali per il vino, oppure, se la stanza che avrai deciso di trasformare in cantina non presenta le condizioni adatte, potresti utilizzare una delle numerose cantinette per vino disponibili sul mercato, piccole dispense climatizzate che ricreano al proprio interno la temperatura adatta alla conservazione delle tue preziose bottiglie. Posiziona le bottiglie su mensole che dovranno essere delle dimensioni adatte a contenere le bottiglie inclinate tendenti ad una posizione orizzontale, in modo che il tappo, a contatto diretto con il vino, rimanga morbido e non si crepi, evitando pericolose infiltrazioni di ossigeno. È importante anche conoscere l’ordine in cui andrai a collocare sugli scaffali i tipi di vino: i vini bianchi andranno nei ripiani inferiori, leggermente più freschi, mentre i vini rossi in quelli superiori a contatto con l’aria più calda. Ricorda inoltre che il vino traspira l’ambiente che lo circonda, non vorrai mai che venisse contaminato da sostante chimiche ed odori troppo forti: evita di sistemarlo accanto a cibi stagionati o su mensole in legno trattate chimicamente.

Come decorare la cantina

Idealmente la cantina che tutti abbiamo in mente ha i mattoni a vista e il soffitto a botte. Non dimenticare però che puoi integrarne lo stile con quello della tua casa. Se vuoi ovviare ai tradizionali pietra e legno, puoi progettarla con vetro e metallo per una soluzione più moderna. Al centro della stanza potrai collocare un vecchio tavolo in legno restaurato e riverniciato, corredato di sgabelli e panche o un paio di botti in legno da utilizzare come piano d’appoggio. Per concludere l’arredo, consigliamo di dotare la tua enoteca privata di una credenza con i bicchieri: calici, flûte e coppe. Non dimenticare di dotare l’angolo degustazione di apribottiglie e decanter: in questo modo avrai tutto l’occorrente per organizzare una piacevole serata con i tuoi ospiti.
