È sufficiente intercalare piante con forme e portamenti differenti (tondo e compatto, decombente e soffice, svettante e lineare, ecc.) occultando contemporaneamente linee e strutture (ad esempio i bordi del muro, o il fusto di una colonna). Composizioni o piante differenti per i vasi indeboliscono l’effetto simmetrico, mentre un elemento centrale, come un piccolo albero, lo rafforza.
