Plain & PoshThese homeowners were ready to update the home they had built when their girls were young. This was not a full gut remodel. The perimeter cabinetry mostly stayed but got new doors and height added at the top. The island and tall wood stained cabinet to the left of the sink are new and custom built and I hand-drew the design of the new range hood. The beautiful reeded detail came from our idea to add this special element to the new island and cabinetry. Bringing it over to the hood just tied everything together. We were so in love with this stunning Quartzite we chose for the countertops we wanted to feature it further in a custom apron-front sink. We were in love with the look of Zellige tile and it seemed like the perfect space to use it in.

Homework Design.Build.RemodelThis is one of our favorite kitchen projects! We started by deleting two walls and a closet, followed by framing in the new eight foot window and walk-in pantry. We stretched the existing kitchen across the entire room, and built a huge nine foot island with a gas range and custom hood. New cabinets, appliances, elm flooring, custom woodwork, all finished off with a beautiful rustic white brick.

Making Room for PeaceWhen it came to the inspiration for the Falls Church project, a good deal of it came from our client’s love for Heath Ceramics. Located out in Sausalito, California, this company is best-known for their handcrafted ceramic tableware and architectural tile in distinctive glazes. Further down (if you scroll) there is a photo of the growing client’s collection! Taking cue from these pieces (the color, style and story); we also took note of the Heath store itself, and how it tied in (in regards to the finishes/style) perfectly with our vision for the home.

Zobel & Co. KitchensThis 1970s kitchen in the Adirondacks got a big lift and a fabulous new bar. Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinets, Shaker door, Saybrook Sage. Silver Gray Granite with leathered finish. Brook Custom Artisan Slant Shaped hood with cast nickel finish. Pine flooring. Interior features include LeMans swing outs, pull out pantry, angled dividers for utensils, and roll-shelves in cabinets.
k YODER design, LLCA new kitchen replaced a dated version installed during a prior renovation. Consistent use of walnut wood and marble ensures a timeless aesthetic. As part of the renovation, an enclosed rear stair was opened and outfit with railings to match the home’s main stair.

A favourite feature has to be the walk-in pantry as this conceals a backup freezer, step ladders and lots of shelving for food and the large appliances including the shabbos kettle.
Callen Construction, Inc.A modern kitchen remodel that incorporates that craftsmanship of the home. By flattening out the breakfast bar it opened up and brought the the two spaces together.
JRP Design & RemodelThis modern farmhouse chic kitchen remodel features clean lines of alabaster cabinets and white gloss ceramic square tiles layered with natural wood tones. Removing the wall between the kitchen and family room allowed for a generous new island with a quartz countertop and farmhouse sink and plenty of below-counter storage space while creating a large open living space.
Adding faux ceiling beams helps to transition the space into the modern farmhouse style. The raised upper cabinets provide extended storage space and the lighted top cabinets add beautiful display or functional space.
Black quartz flanks the stove and provides plenty of countertop space for cooking tools and kitchen necessities. The dark bronzed and brass detailed hood and matching island lighting complement the kitchen’s neutral colors.
The dining nook features a linear aged-iron lighting fixture and under-seating drawers. White shiplap surrounds the cozy seating that invites you to stay a while for relaxed dining or conversation in this comfortable farmhouse chic remodel.

Francesco Pierazzi ArchitectsThe large open space continues the themes set out in the Living and Dining areas with a similar palette of darker surfaces and finishes, chosen to create an effect that is highly evocative of past centuries, linking new and old with a poetic approach.
The dark grey concrete floor is a paired with traditional but luxurious Tadelakt Moroccan plaster, chose for its uneven and natural texture as well as beautiful earthy hues.
The supporting structure is exposed and painted in a deep red hue to suggest the different functional areas and create a unique interior which is then reflected on the exterior of the extension.
