Collaborations are typically so fruitful and this one was no different. The homeowners started by hiring an architect to develop a vision and plan for transforming their very traditional brick home into a contemporary family home full of modern updates. The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn was hired to provide kitchen design expertise and to bring the vision to life.
The bamboo cabinetry and white Ceasarstone countertops provide contrast that pops while the white oak floors and limestone tile bring warmth to the space. A large island houses a Galley Sink which provides a multi-functional work surface fantastic for summer entertaining. And speaking of summer entertaining, a new Nana Wall system — a large glass wall system that creates a large exterior opening and can literally be opened and closed with one finger – brings the outdoor in and creates a very unique flavor to the space.
Matching bamboo cabinetry and panels were also installed in the adjoining family room, along with aluminum doors with frosted glass and a repeat of the limestone at the newly designed fireplace.

Metropolis Drafting and Construction IncModernizing a mid-century Adam's hill home was an enjoyable project indeed.
The kitchen cabinets are modern European frameless in a dark deep gray with a touch of earth tone in it.
The golden hard integrated on top and sized for each door and drawer individually.
The floor that ties it all together is 24"x24" black Terrazzo tile (about 1" thick).
The neutral countertop by Cambria with a honed finish with almost perfectly matching backsplash tile sheets of 1"x10" limestone look-a-like tile.

The countertop is Cambria Bradshaw Quartz in 3cm with ledge edge and 4” backsplash on coffee bar. The backsplash is Honed Durango 4 x 4, 3 x 6 Harlequin Glass Mosaic 1 x 1 accent tile, Slate Radiance color: Cactus. Design Studio WestWe started the design process by selecting inspiration colors from Dunn Edwards paints. We chose Rainer White, Dark Lagoon and Mesa Tan colors inspired by a fabric swatch that the client wanted to use somewhere in their home. After the general design and space planning of the kitchen was complete, the clients were shown many colored, 3D renderings to show how it would look before settling on the Dark Lagoon upper cabinets, tall cabinets and pantry. For the island and base cabinets, we chose Alder wood with a stain color that complemented the inspiration color of Mesa Tan. Walls throughout the house were painted Rainer White.
Southern Development HomesPractical and completely waterproof wood-look luxury viny tile floors are CoreTEC Plus 7" 'Hudson Valley Oak'. Backsplash is DalTile 'Siberian Tundra' Mosaic Honed Tile. Countertops are Silestone 'White Storm' engineered quartz. Faucet is Moen Spring 'Align' Chrome Pull Down. Cabinetry is Mid Continent Copenhagen painted maple in 'Ebony'. Stainless steel appliances including GE 30" slide-in convection gas range and chimney hood. Paint color is Sherwin Williams #7030 Anew Gray.
Cabinet-S-TopIn this kitchen, Medallion Providence flat panel door style cabinet in Cherry with Amaretto stain with ebony glaze and highlight were installed. On the countertop is Cambria Cannongate quartz and a A 5’ Galley workstation with bamboo accessories and dual tier condiment and wash basin were installed. The backsplash materials are Limestone Crema Beveled 3x6 tile. Over the stove is a 36” Cavalier Stainless Steel hood.
Metropolis Drafting and Construction IncLoft kitchens are always tricky since they are usually very small and most don’t have much cabinet space.
Going against the standard design of opening the kitchen to the common area here we decided to close off a wall to allow additional cabinets to be installed.
2 large pantries were installed in the end of the kitchen for extra storage, a laundry enclosure was built to house the stackable washer/dryer unit and in the center of it all we have a large tall window to allow natural light to wash the space with light.
The modern cabinets have an integral pulls design to give them a clean look without any hardware showing.
Two tones, dark wood for bottom and tall cabinet and white for upper cabinets give this narrow galley kitchen a sensation of space.
tying it all together is the long narrow rectangular gray/brown lime stone backsplash.
Morey Remodeling GroupMorey Remodeling Group's kitchen design and remodel helped this multi-generational household in Garden Grove, CA achieve their desire to have two cooking areas and additional storage. The custom mix and match cabinetry finished in Dovetail Grey and Navy Hale were designed to provide more efficient access to spices and other kitchen related items. Flat Black hardware was added for a hint of contrast. Durable Pental Quartz counter tops in Venoso with Carrara white polished marble interlocking pattern backsplash tile is displayed behind the range and undermount sink areas. Energy efficient LED light fixtures and under counter task lighting enhances the entire space. The flooring is Paradigm water proof luxury vinyl.
Redstone KitchensThis mid Century modern style kitchen blends perfectly with the rest of the home now after a major remodel. The cabinetry is a flat panel natural birds-eye maple mixed with a dark stained rift-cut oak veneer.
