eScape Landscape ArchitectureThe brief from the owners was to renovate their existing landscape pool area to enhance the materials and flow of the space. eScape help to develop the brief with the client in a collaborative way to incorporate what was working well and what needed changing. One of the main challenges on this project as with many pool areas was the tight access and existing pool fencing position and effect on space and proportions. In the design eScape developed ways of opening up the pool fencing to allow for a better flow between the pool area and remainder of the garden spatially.

A curved ipe deck and flagstone patio add some flow to an otherwise boxy house. The deck's cable railing maintains their beautiful view. A pathway leads to a dry riverbed, both a natural element and a practical walkway.

dp environmentsOutdoor dining area with pergola with steel posts and open lattice design. All wood has hidden hardware and semitransparent stain. Modular concrete pads transition through the space with decorative gravel in joints making this a permeable hardscape design. Corten steel planter in Mexican Beach Pebble in the foreground, planted with Stipa tenuissima. Other plants include Pennisetum, Lavenders, Carolina Cherry, Virginia Oak, and other drough tolerant plants.

Land & Water DesignA Backyard Resort with a freeform saltwater pool as the focal point, a spa provides a spot to relax. A large raised waterfall spills into the pool, appearing to flow from the koi pond above. We extended a streambed to flow from behind the outdoor kitchen, all the way to the patio, to spill into the koi pond. A Sports Court at one end of the yard with putting greens meander throughout the landscape and the water features. A curved outdoor kitchen with a large Viking grill with a warming drawer to the sink and outdoor refrigeration. A Pavilion with large roof and columns unite the landscape with the home while creating an outdoor living room with a stone fireplace along the back wall, while still allowing views of the yard beyond.
The Garden BuildersPlay zone at the rear of the garden features a tennis and badminton court and bespoke tennis wall.

Llama ArchitectsAs part of this Replacement Dwelling Development, this area between the two large Oak Framed Buildings has been created to form a focal feature in between both buildings. A once totally over grown shaded area due to 20 Leylandi trees being in this part of the Developments Curtilage, this now lovely sunny area has been carefully landscaped with a wonderful dry stone curved wall, with Oak cleft gates and Oak raised beds with Box Ball 'Cloud' Planting. Recalimed York Stone Flags and Setts have also been used and allowing the Oak of the buildings and raised beds to naturally 'silver' will go onto compliment the beautiful 200 year old stone. The Dry Stone wall is soon to be capped off with bull nosed stone coping stones. Pretty Pink structural Tulips have been planted for Spring Colour and pretty feathery Cosmos has been planted for Summer Planting. The Box Balls remain a constant structural planting element all year round and look stunning when frost covered. John Cullen low level Lighting in the raised beds and walk way allow these raised beds to look stunning in the evening.
