John Case Adams, ArchitectThis project required the renovation of the Master Bedroom area of a Westchester County country house. Previously other areas of the house had been renovated by our client but she had saved the best for last. We reimagined and delineated five separate areas for the Master Suite from what before had been a more open floor plan: an Entry Hall; Master Closet; Master Bath; Study and Master Bedroom. We clarified the flow between these rooms and unified them with the rest of the house by using common details such as rift white oak floors; blackened Emtek hardware; and french doors to let light bleed through all of the spaces. We selected a vein cut travertine for the Master Bathroom floor that looked a lot like the rift white oak flooring elsewhere in the space so this carried the motif of the floor material into the Master Bathroom as well. Our client took the lead on selection of all the furniture, bath fixtures and lighting so we owe her no small praise for not only carrying the design through to the smallest details but coordinating the work of the contractors as well.

Designed to address the clients’ desire for indoor / outdoor living, the home embraces its surroundings and is sited to take full advantage of the panoramic views and outdoor entertaining spaces. The interior space of the three bedroom, 2.5 bath home is divided into three distinct zones: a public living area; a two bedroom suite; and a separate master suite, which includes an art studio. Casually relaxed, yet startlingly original, the structure gains impact through the sometimes surprising choice of materials, which include field stone, integral concrete floors, glass walls, Honduras mahogany veneers and a copper clad central fireplace. Ameo ConceptA deux pas du canal de l’Ourq dans le XIXè arrondissement de Paris, cet appartement était bien loin d’en être un. Surface vétuste et humide, corroborée par des problématiques structurelles importantes, le local ne présentait initialement aucun atout. Ce fut sans compter sur la faculté de projection des nouveaux acquéreurs et d’un travail important en amont du bureau d’étude Védia Ingéniérie, que cet appartement de 27m2 a pu se révéler. Avec sa forme rectangulaire et ses 3,00m de hauteur sous plafond, le potentiel de l’enveloppe architecturale offrait à l’équipe d’Ameo Concept un terrain de jeu bien prédisposé. Le challenge : créer un espace nuit indépendant et allier toutes les fonctionnalités d’un appartement d’une surface supérieure, le tout dans un esprit chaleureux reprenant les codes du « bohème chic ».
