This walk in closet is part of a large property in central London. The client asked Tim Wood to come up with a storage solution for her extensvie collection of shoes and handbags. Tim Wood designed and made shelving that would accommodate the exact proportions of her shoes. The rails that the handbags hang from were all specially moulded to echo the exact shape of the clients shoulder, so that they could retain their shape perfectly. The closet houses over two hundred pairs of shoes, and can easily be expanded further to accommodate new purchases. The client is thrilled with this totally bespoke walk in closet that houses her prized collection of shoes such as Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Louboutin, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce Gabbana, Manolo Blanik, Emma Hope, Salvatore Ferragamo, Lanvin, Paul Smith and Guiseppe Zanotti. The client has over seventy five handbags such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Fendi, Dior, Gucci, Anya Hindmarch, Jimmy Choo, Bill Amberg, Lanvin, Mulberry, Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Dolce Gabbana, Michael Kors, Vivienne Westwood, Moschino, Diane von Furstenberg, Lulu Guinness, Marc Jacobs, DKNY, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miiu and Burberry. Armadi e Cabine Armadio

Quando si tratta di vestiti, borse e scarpe il posto sembra non bastare mai. Chi non sogna dunque di aver in casa propria un armadio o una cabina armadio ben organizzati e grandi abbastanza da sistemare tutto l’abbigliamento e gli accessori? Tuttavia non tutti abbiamo sufficientemente spazio in camera da letto per un armadio a 8 ante o disponiamo di una camera separata dove sistemare una cabina armadio. Prima di passare all’acquisto di un armadio o all’installazione di una cabina armadio bisogna pertanto valutare bene le esigenze e lo spazio a disposizione. Munisciti dunque di metro, carta e penna, determina le dimensioni che il tuo nuovo guardaroba può avere, studia dove sistemarlo e come organizzare al meglio lo spazio interno. Trova qui alcuni consigli utili per trovare l’armadio che fa al caso tuo.

Come scegliere l’armadio giusto

Quando si desidera acquistare un armadio o armadio guardaroba bisogna tener presente vari fattori. Prima di tutto bisogna valutare le dimensioni del nuovo guardaroba e decidere dove collocarlo al meglio rispetto agli altri elementi della camera. Se lo spazio a tua disposizione è poco o se disponi di una camera difficile d’arredare, consigliamo gli armadi componibili: in questo modo puoi creare un armadio su misura sfruttando al meglio lo spazio. Dopodiché si tratta di scegliere stile e materiali. A meno di non optare per una camera da letto con mobili coordinati è importante che lo stile del nuovo complemento si sposi con il resto della camera. Scegli dunque attentamente linee, colori e materiali: se gli elementi della tua stanza sono contemporanei, puoi optare per colori vivi e accesi e ante laccate. Per uno stile classico invece è meglio prediligere colori chiari. Se a sua volta l’elemento è in legno o color legno, bisogna scegliere con cura la tonalità e la venatura di modo che questi non stonino con il resto del mobilio. Ora non resta che decidere il tipo di apertura delle ante. In questo caso la scelta non dipende meramente dalle proprie preferenze ma anche dallo spazio a disposizione. Se ne hai a sufficienza, puoi optare per le classiche ante a battente. Se invece necessiti di porte meno ingombranti, la soluzione migliore sono le ante scorrevoli oppure quelle a soffietto o a libro. Ora che hai determinato la struttura esterna del tuo guardaroba, passiamo al suo interno.

Come organizzare un armadio

Gli accessori interni vanno determinati con cura, scelti in base alla tipologia del tuo vestiario e posizionati di modo da poter trovare e raggiungere ogni volta con facilità l’indumento che serve. E grazie ai numerosi moduli e varianti di sistemi componibili, oggigiorno è possibile creare armadi su misura a prezzi relativamente convenienti. Perché dunque non sbizzarrirsi un po’ e realizzare un guardaroba con accessori interni personalizzati? Gli elementi interni disponibili sono tanti, ma di base bastano dei tubi appendiabiti, dei ripiani e dei cassetti. Se, ad esempio, disponi di tante magliette che pieghi è consigliabile arredare una buona parte del guardaroba con dei ripiani (magari estraibili). Se invece hai molti vestiti, giacche e camicie da appendere è meglio dedicare più spazio a dei moduli con tubi appendiabiti posizionati ad altezze diverse. Nei cassetti - magari con ulteriori divisori interni - puoi sistemare invece la biancheria intima, i foulard e le cinture. A seconda delle esigenze puoi ulteriormente arricchire il tuo guardaroba con portacravatte, portapantaloni o ripiani per scarpe - tranne se preferisci tenerle in una scarpiera. Le cose che non servono tutti i giorni e il cambio di stagione possono invece essere conservati in appositi contenitori o sacchetti salvaspazio che puoi sistemare sui ripiani superiori del tuo guardaroba.

Come realizzare una cabina armadio

Se invece hai sufficientemente spazio in camera da letto o magari disponi di una camera o un ripostiglio inutilizzati, puoi realizzare una cabina armadio tutta tua. Per allestirne o persino costruirne una, ad es. in cartongesso, bastano ca. due metri quadri. Per quanto riguarda gli interni si ricorre anche in questo caso ad un arredamento modulare, magari con l’aggiunta di una cassettiera a isola. Per dare alla tua cabina armadio un tocco di lusso e renderla ancora più comoda, puoi - spazio permettendo - aggiungere un divanetto o una chaise longue nonché un mobile per il trucco completo di portagioie. In ogni caso, non può mancare uno specchio da terra o da parete sufficientemente grande per darsi un’occhiata e una sistemata prima di uscire di casa.
