Lighting suggestions for a Tall Ceiling

JPGraff
3 anni fa

We are currently renovating this house and I need some suggestions for ceiling lights. Taking down the two fans and need two fixtures. Ceiling are around 20 feet. The floor is going and will be replaced with a grayish wood floor. These pictures make the room look larger and taller than it is. Any suggestions? Thank you!

If you need heating in winter you will want to have ceiling fans in the upper area to push the stratified hot air down.

Agree with ulisdone about the fans.

IMO gray is the color of 2015 and its fashion is fading away. I wouldn’t do gray in a permanent fixture like a floor, unless you just like it, of course.

I think you have a great opportunity here. I agree with the fans and the air movement above.

How about something more sculptural? Here are some fun ideas below. I am sure you can find many others. Ones as lines from within your budget and closer to your style of furniture.

Hi, for your high ceiling lights you could go with a custom made blown glass modern chandelier.

See some images below. We have many options and our designer can complimentary help you make the perfect chandelier for you.

    Hello There,

I suggest a large pendant in Murano glass drops, with Triedri glasses or with crystal chains, made in Italy of course. it all depends on the style of furniture and cliente taste.

Is one fan located in the center of the room, and the other over the stairs?

No, they are both over the living room. I love all the suggestions, but for this house it is on the Gulf Coast and looking for a more causal look.

Dear @JPGraff my Venetian company is specialised on bespoke lighting for any need, according to me, for a "casual" look you could be used a mix of materials and finishes, metal + glass (the location is on the Gulf Coast, the glass is made mainly with sand...), brushed burnished bronze.

Another idea could be to make pendants with white cocoon finish like picture attached that made my company...

If you are painting, have the painters paint the HVAC grill the same as the wall color, it will help it blend in.

    @Jean or little bit darker.

On a side note - speaking of that hvac grill - how the heck are you going to change the filter regularly? Drag out the ladder each time?

Good question and good idea. I said the same thing when we bought it. It was very Tuscany and each room was a different color.

I have some ideas for lights, will see what I can find. Our living room ceiling is 20 ft high also, all angles. We had one teeny tiny fan hanging about a foot down from the 20 ft ceiling when we moved in. It did nothing. No light and no air. We changed it to a different fixture, and also put in an Aladdin lift, so that it can be raised and lowered for cleaning purposes. (We are old and not about to pull out the 14 ft ladder to dust it) What style are you planning? Modern Farmhouse? Rustic? Neutral Casual?
