Festuca glauca elijah blue?

Several years ago (3-4) I planted 25 of these grasses separating my lawn from a planting bed. They have done well and this year are blooming like crazy. I love the tall seedheads that wave in the slightest breeze. However, I'm wondering if they will go to seed and invade my lawn and planting bed. Would it be a good idea to trim the flower heads to keep them in check?

I wouldn't worry about it. Even if it does self sow, they are easy to pull.

They self-sow like crazy and are, as noted, easy to pull. Depends on your tolerance...

Elijah blue is sterile. Other blue fescues are not.

Thx i just looked - my error. Mine is 'Boulder Blue'.it's supposedly tougher and more drought tolerant. Thx for catching!

I wish mine would seed. Stipa on the other hand ... at least it's easy to pull.
