We hired Maxwell & Company Architects for a complete renovation of our 2800sqft property - a flat over 3 floors and with 3 outdoor spaces in Highbury. Rob and his team took the time to listen to us and fully understand our style and budgeting - they were creative, professional, incredibly responsive and very importantly for us, practical in their ideas and approach. This was our first experience of a larger scale project and dealing with Rob and Louise was genuinely a pleasure. Their attention to detail was extremely impressive and we always felt that the project was completely under control. They worked cohesively with the contractor (with whom they had not worked with before) and adopted a solutions-based approach to any issues that cropped up which made for a very smooth project - far smoother than we had envisaged! Rob and his team had a number of issues to deal with, including lack of natural light into parts of the property, an unusual layout with uniquely shaped rooms and some low ceiling heights. They dealt with all our concerns and we are absolutely thrilled with the final result. Their service was impeccable from the start through to the finish.

After Robert delivering a great result on our first, smaller project, we decided to go ahead and ask him to work on a full renovation of a larger property, bringing two flats into one. We like the aesthetic Rob delivers and his creative ideas, and he outdid our expectations on this massive project. We took a property that had not been developed for approx 20 years and completely changed the interior layout, as well as extending a current extension and building a first floor extension. This was a locally listed property so meant we were limited by planners on what we could do. At this early stage we already got the benefits of Robert's expertise, as thanks to his sympathetic design and advice he managed us through the planning process very quickly (we cleared planning a couple of months earlier than friends who made a similar submission earlier than us). As the project developed a number of problems unfolded - relating to the existing structure and foundations and, I'm sure other issues of which we were unaware and were promptly fixed. Rob's flexibility means that no issue stopped progress and the momentum continued regardless. We had some fantastic tradesmen involved, and the final finish is fantastic. We did spend a lot of money but did a huge job including a lot of structural work (moving staircase location, building new stairs, digging new foundations). Rob is able to find contractors who could build bespoke items for our home without massive expense. The finished product is an incredible space to live in, loads of natural light despite being a basement property, that fits our needs perfectly. We love it. As with all big projects, it did drag on a bit in terms of finishing the final bits and bobs. What I am probably most grateful for is Rob's focus right to the bitter end, when I was fed up with the builders who had moved on to new projects, as had Rob, and he helped me get everything finished in full, even though it was not his responsibility.

My wife and I hired Maxwell & Company to oversee an extensive, £300,000 renovation of our 1750sf, two-story Victorian townhouse conversion home in Marylebone, central London. Robert Maxwell wa the lead architect on the project and from day one he was relentlessly industrious, resourceful, creative, visionary, professional, punctual and crucially, an excellent communicator. It would be no exaggeration to say that Robert rescued the whole project on more than one occasion, making the unlikely possible and even going beyond his job description in helping us source materials, manage troublesome third party vendors and keep us on track. There is a true personal touch when dealing with an eminently professional firm like Maxwell and Company. Such service is a rarity these days and we feel very fortunate indeed to have found them. Rob and his team developed my London residence from a tired Victorian terrace into a modern home with contemporary interior, whist still retaining many original period features. As a client, I really liked the hard work and dedication Rob gave to my project and he came up with suitable design solutions within my budget. Robert project managed the renovation of my home in London in Spring 2010. This included redesigning and replacing the kitchen and bathroom of the property, as well space maximisation and built in storage solutions throughout the house. I employed Maxwell & Company Architects to upgrade the interior of a recently purchased period property in central London. The design work was exemplary, taking into consideration my own desires and requirements while adding what I like to call 'liveable style': not only does it look great, but the spaces work at a practical level and are a pleasure to inhabit. I feel that detailing is one of the company's strong points, and shows the real benefit of employing a professional designer (I speak from experience of past refurbishment projects). The client designer relationship was convivial and, with Maxwell & Company Architects managing the building work, the job ran smoothly and to deadline and actually a little under the projected budget.
